
Part-time Communication and Project Officer
Harris Voluntary Service is looking to appoint a part-time Communication and Project Officer to develop its work with community groups and charities and help produce its fortnightly community newsletter, the Dè Tha Dol?
Duties include:
· Support the Development Manager to write, collate, and produce the printed fortnightly community newsletter, the Dè Tha Dol?
· Write content for the Dè Tha Dol? and other HVS communication channels
· Carry out local press coverage and contact community groups for news and updates
· Help manage social media channels and develop HVS’ online presence
· Support the Development Manager to develop community projects and improve the service HVS provides to member organisations
· Help to organise events, such as the bi-monthly HVS Coffee Morning and HVS’ 60th anniversary
· Work closely with community groups, HVS partners, and our Board of Directors
The successful candidate will possess the following skills:
· Excellent written communication skills (essential)
· Have an interest in community development, local news, and the Third Sector (essential)
· Experience using MS Publisher or willingness to learn (desirable)
· Have experience or knowledge of the Harris community (desirable)
· Fluency in Gaelic (desirable)
Salary and Benefits
21 hours (3 days) per week.
Salary £23,000 pro rata. 6% company pension contributions after three month’s service. Holiday 30 days per annum pro-rata, plus 12 days public holiday pro-rata.
This job is located in our Tarbert office. In-person working is required although hours can be flexible.
